The Roles
1. An African who has been captured, and placed on board a slave ship. You are not sure where you are going, but rumors among the captives are that you will be enslaved in a far off land. An opportunity presents itself: You suddenly have the choice of either jumping overboard to an almost certain death, or remaining on the ship with the other captives and awaiting your unknown fate. 2. An African slaver who has been capturing fellow Africans for several years and sold them to European slavers. You have grown quite wealthy, but you have begun to see the toll that slavery is taking on your native land. You have the choice of continuing, or to quit and take your family and belongings and move inland where hopefully slavers will not venture to go. 3. A Carribbean plantation owner. You have used slaves to work your plantation for nearly a decade. The practice of slave labor has worked quite well and you have built a successful business. You believe that you treat your slaves exceptionally well, but lately you have had nagging doubts about whether slavery is wrong, perhaps even evil. You have the choice of freeing your slaves and using paid labor to work your plantation. Click HERE to continue... | ![]() |
